Manchester United season has been nothing less than that of a roller coaster ride. They were expected to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils had secured Champions League football as well. However, despite negotiations, Ed Woodward failed to sign him and once again they were active on the last day of the transfer window.
The results on the pitch did not help either. They lost on an opening day to Crystal Palace, then came the shocker against Spurs in a 1-6 defeat. Ole Gunnar Solskjear’s team was struggling to win a home game at the start of the season. Donny Van de Beek was the high-profile arrival but he wasn’t getting any playtime.
However slowly and steadily they got back on track. A series of consecutive wins has now helped them to be at the top of the Premier League table with 40 points. Though Manchester City could potentially overtake them as they have a game in hand and they are 38 points. It has been excellent for the Red Devils, except for some controversial moments where it can be argued that referees made a mistake and favoured them.
With this fine form and January transfer window open, the Red Devils could spend some money as well. They are known as heavy spenders. The United fans would be hopeful that even this winter they can sign someone like Burno Fernandes. The Portuguese arrived at the club last year in January and since then he has been brilliant for them.
The move for Inter Milan midfielder:

According to Duncan Castles, Manchester United want Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen. The journalist was speaking on his podcast The Transfer Window Podcast, where he broke this news. The Red Devils don’t want to sign him on a permanent basis but they want to sign him on a six-month loan move.
Christian Eriksen joined Inter Milan from Tottenham last January. However, he hasn’t been able to nail down a place in the starting line up. During his early days, he struggled to make an impact but he was expected to break into the first team next season. However this season as well he has struggled to find regular playtime.
There seems to be no place for him in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 formation. Nico Barella, Vidal, and Brozovic seem to be the first team players. Eriksen only comes in as a substitute player. Also, the style of football which Inter play under is not suited to the Dane. Conte’s football is very intense and based on work rate, which is not Eriksen’s best qualities.
Thus with a limited game in Itlay, United want to sign him on loan. It is unclear whether the Nerrazuri will accept this offer or not. The Red Devils have made the offer for him, they have been linked with a move to sign him in the past as well.
12th Man Opinion:
The authenticity of this news is questionable. Duncan Castles is a reputed journalist but he is not a reliable source. In other words, he is not in the same category as Fabrizio Romano, Christian Flak, or David Oristein, etc. However, the authenticity is only questionable and it can’t be said with certainty that this news is false.
On paper, it makes no sense for the Red Devils to sign Christian Eriksen in any way. They already have Paul Pogba and Burno Fernandes who are capable of doing what Christian Eriksen can do. Both of them are doing well at the club and Solskjear would not want a player who can potentially disrupt that. In case of any injury, they already have Donny Van de Beek.
Another thing to consider here whether the player would himself like to join United at this stage. It is likely that he won’t get much playing time at Old Trafford. There might be betters offers elsewhere. Eriksen played his best football under Mauricio Pochettino, currently, the former Spurs manager is at PSG, he could be tempted for a reunion.
There might some other clubs as well, who might want to sign him. Bayern Munich could be a potential destination. In Serie A it is very common for players to join rival teams for a swap deal. The same could happen in Eriksen’s case as well.
