Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has revealed that not many teams will be able to snatch points off Manchester City this season in the Premier League which will be a major issue for Liverpool.
At the moment, Manchester City looks about the best team on the planet under Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager had taken the Premier League by storm last season after winning the Premier League by a record 100 points. It was the first time in history that any English club achieved the three-digit number in terms of winning the title and City seem prepared to be better than the previous record this term.
Just 12 games into the Premiership and City have already won 10 and drawn just two, Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers being the only two clubs that prevented City from taking all three points.
And City’s local rivals Manchester United became the latest victims of Manchester City’s sword. Jose Mourinho’s side barely stood a realistic chance in the Manchester derby on Sunday as City pretty much dominated the game in a 3-1 win over the Red Devils.
That is a worry for Liverpool fans; according to ex-Manchester United right-back Gary Neville, who believes that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are the only club that can stop Manchester City.
Neville On Liverpool-
While speaking as a pundit on Sky Sports, the 43-year-old former Englishman said that it seems very difficult for clubs to take points off Manchester City, “Winning one league is an achievement, winning back-to-back titles makes you a great team and Man City are on the brink of that. At this moment in time, I only feel like Liverpool can stop them. The problem for Liverpool is that it doesn’t look like anyone else can lay a glove on City, that’s the problem they’ve got.”
Manchester City looks a serious force and it seems like Liverpool could drop points in the Premier League because they aren’t as well equipped as Pep Guardiola’s squad. Neville poses a serious question; can anyone really keep Manchester City in their tracks apart from Liverpool?
