With the winter transfer window approaching, Manchester United are set to sign new strikers to improve their forward line.
Manchester United is one of the top clubs in England, has yet again failed to qualify for the Champions League. They signed two new players – Fred and Diogo Dalot in the 2018/19 season. But still, only managed to bag the 6th position in the league. Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer took over after Jose Mourinho was sacked in the middle of the season. Although this season, things did look good for the Reds of Manchester when they won their opening game against the Blues with a sterling scoreline of 4-0.
New signings making an impact amongst others.
Manchester United certainly improved their defense by signing the Leicester City Centre-half Harry Maguire and the young Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Most importantly, new signings have shown promise and have started the season on a high note. Although, the forward line is still a concern for the 20 times Premier League Winners. Other players Manchester United have been in talks to sign are Jadon Sancho from Borrusia Dortmund and James Maddison from Leicester City.
Scouts sent to St. Mary’s Stadium for the England European Championship Qualifiers.
Manchester United have positioned their scouts, in the St Mary’s Stadium, to follow the England v Kosovo European Championship qualifier. The scouts were present to encompass the rule of the 25-year-old striker, Vedat Muriqi from Kosova. Muriqi is currently in Fenerbahce seems like an unlikely transfer. But, if the cost is right, Muriqi could be a surprise signing in either the January transfer window or the next summer.
Vedat Muriqi – The Solution to Manchester United’s Number 9 Problem?
Muriqi was also on the score sheet in the overwhelming 5-3 win for England as he scored from the penalty spot. That marked his seventh international goal in 22 matches for his homeland. Furthermore, has scored two goals in three league games since he transferred to Fenerbahce from Çaykur Rizespor in the summer. His powerful displays have also impressed the likes of Tottenham. The 25-year-old center-forward has a contract with the Turkish club until 2023.
Manchester United would have to beat Tottenham to sign him in the winter transfer window. The Fenerbahce star is an ideal striker for Ole’s 4-2-3-1 arrangement. He can quickly link up with the number 10, and make runs for wingers to unearth him in the box and score for the team. With speedy forwards that United such as Rashford, Martial, and James, Muriqi should be a perfect fit.
