Mason Greenwood’s case is building up towards a verdict. The player’s bail had expiry in April originally, although the police made the decision to extend it to mid-June. He was contacted by the authorities regarding the charges he could be facing.
Greenwood might face rape charges at the end of his bail but there hasn’t been official confirmation of the fact as of yet. As per reports from the DailyStar, Manchester United has confirmed that he is still officially suspended by the club.
As far as Greenwood’s case is concerned, within the end of this month, we should have a verdict of his ongoing trial. If he is acquitted of all charges by the authorities, then technically Manchester United can remove their suspension on him.
That seems very unlikely considering the gruesome images and recordings that emerged against the player. But even if he is clear of all charges, he will still face prosecution in the court of the public.

This is one of those things in life which is very hard to recover from. The lapse in judgment and character will be troubling enough for the 20-year-old. Even if he manages to get clear of all charges, it’s very hard to change the public perception.
Manchester United strongly condemned his actions as they stand with the no abuse policy. Greenwood does have a contract with the club till 2025 but it might be possible that they may cancel that even after he is cleared.
There could be a similar scenario for all clubs in the Premier League. Greenwood has been placed on the Sex Offenders list for a period of 7 years which stands in the way of him playing professional football in England.
Playing abroad could be a possibility for him. Although, it all depends on what the Judgement comes out as. If Greenwood faces conviction, the period of his sentence will be long enough to see the passing of his glory years.
