Manchester United News: The Red Devils have decided to part ways with Juan Mata this summer. The Spaniard is out of contract at Old Trafford and is set to explore new challenges. This did not come as a surprise as United, under their new manager in Erik ten Hag, are looking to rebuild their squad.
The news of Juan Mata’s departure comes a day after United have officially announced the exits of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.
Mata joined the Red Devils from Chelsea back in January 2014 for a then-record £37.1m. And he played his final match for United against Crystal Palace in May 2022.

The midfielder arrived at Old Trafford with huge expectations and he didn’t let the fans down. The 34-year-old midfielder donned the Manchester United jersey 285 times. Furthermore, he scored 51 goals and won four trophies in the red shirt.
In his first season, Mata produced some unbelievable moments. His second goal in a 2-1 win against bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield won him the Goal of the Season award.
In his second season, Mata played a crucial role in Manchester United winning the FA Cup. He scored a scintillating equalizer in the final against Crystal Palace to force extra time. He further added the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League to his cabinet. All while playing under his former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho in 2016/17.
The creative midfielder played under five managers in his eight seasons. He surprisingly appeared in less than 20 games in his final two seasons at the club.
However, his professional attitude, positivity and experience at the club will go unmatched.

The Red Devils are up for a massive summer of a rebuild under their new manager. Chief Executive Richard Arnold, football director John Murtough and Erik ten Hag are taking charge of the negotiations.
