Manchester United news: Marseille president Pablo Longoria has ruled out a move for Cristiano Ronaldo amid continued speculation surrounding his future.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Man Utd all summer. The speculation became rife after reports emerged that Ronaldo has told Man Utd he wants to leave. Ronaldo has reportedly asked Man Utd to allow him to leave should they receive a suitable offer.
Ronaldo has been linked with a number of clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich. Atletico have distanced themselves from a move for Ronaldo, and so have Bayern. Chelsea, another club linked with the 37-year-old, have also seemingly decided against signing Ronaldo.
Among the latest clubs linked with a move for Ronaldo was Ligue 1 side Marseille. However, Marseille’s president have now ruled out a move for the Portuguese international.

Longoria insisted Marseille will not be making a move for Ronaldo. “It’s the social media world full of fake news. We want reality. Ronaldo deal is not for us,” Longoria said, as quoted by 90min.
“It’d be like saying that De Bruyne or Haaland are OM targets. Let’s focus on our real project.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has not had the best of starts to the new season. The Portuguese was dropped to the bench in Man Utd’s Premier League 22/23 season opener.
Ronaldo did make an appearance in Man Utd’s season opener, though, coming off the bench in the 53rd minute. Red Devils, however, lost the game 2-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo returned to the starting XI in Man Utd’s second league game of the season. However, the star striker could not inspire Man Utd to a victory as Brentford ran riot. The Bees inflicted a heavy 4-0 on Man Utd in that game, with Ronaldo featuring for the Red Devils throughout.
Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag dropped Ronaldo again to the bench in their next game. Against Liverpool, Ten Hag made four changes to the side that started at Brentford. Ronaldo was one of those who Ten Hag dropped from the starting XI.
Ten Hag’s changes paid off results against Liverpool as Man Utd secured a 2-1 victory. That was Man Utd’s first win of the PL 22/23 campaign. Ten Hag only introduced Ronaldo towards the end of the game, in the 86th minute.
Meanwhile, Man Utd face Southampton in an away fixture in their next game in the Premier League.
