Manchester United news: Former Red Devils Nani has jumped to the defense of Cristiano Ronaldo’s behavior.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Man Utd this summer just one season after he re-signed for them. Reports have said Ronaldo has asked Man Utd to allow him to leave if they receive a suitable offer.

A move has not happened yet, and Ronaldo has cut a frustrated figure at Man Utd. The Portuguese was understandably disappointed during Man Utd’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Brentford.

Ronaldo also did not acknowledge the away fans at the end of the game despite assistant manager Steven McClaren seemingly asking him to. He then stormed down the tunnel.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s VIBE WITH FIVE Podcast, Nani was asked how he feels about Ronaldo’s behivour. Nani defended Ronaldo, saying the Portuguese do not want to lose and he is reacting as he is when the team is not doing well.

Nani also said Ronaldo does not have time to lose, with the Portuguese superstar now 37. He added Ronaldo wants to remain at the top and score goals.

“For Cristiano, he doesn’t have time to lose on building teams or waiting for the next season. He wants to continue to be at the top, scoring goals, being the man. That’s why the reaction is normal, we all have the wrong reactions sometimes,” Nani said, as quoted by Goal.

Meanwhile, Man Utd have had a disastrous start to their new season. Erik ten Hag’s side began their Premier League 22/23 campaign with a defeat.

The Red Devils hosted Brighton & Hove Albion in their first game of the new Premier League season and succumbed to a defeat. Pascal Gross’ first-half brace proved more than enough for Brighton as they won the game 3-1.

Man Utd suffered a heavier defeat in their second league game of the season. They traveled to Gtech Community Stadium to take on Brentford and put in a disastrous display. During a catastrophic first half, Man Utd conceded four goals. The Red Devils lost the game 4-0.
