Manchester United News: According to Ralf Rangnick, new Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag may benefit from a lack of European football next season.
The Red Devils’ chances of finishing in the top four have vanished, according to interim manager Rangnick, after they dropped to sixth place, six points behind Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
However, Rangnick said that Ten Hag missing out on the Europa League and Europa Conference League could benefit him in terms of giving him the time he needs to rebuild United’s roster.
Jurgen Klopp’s first full season at Liverpool did not include any European games. He was able to guide the Reds to fourth place, similar to Louis van Gaal’s first year at United. “It could be an advantage,” Rangnick added, “but it doesn’t mean we’ll give up any of the remaining four games.”
Manchester United News: What did Rangnick say?
“It’s evident and our responsibility for us. This is our job, my job, the job of the players, to try to achieve the greatest possible results. We will see where we finish at the end of the season. It’s pointless to discuss whether or not that would be advantageous right now.”
“It’s critical for me that we obtain results and play as well as we can because the environment and tone for the upcoming season will be affected.”
Rangnick also confirmed his intention to return to United as a consultant next season, saying, “I’m looking forward to working in that advisory role and obviously helping Erik as much as he wants it himself,” adding,
“I’m looking forward to working in that advisory role and obviously helping Erik as much as he wants it himself.”
“We haven’t been able to communicate with each other and have had no contact so far. He’s focused on Ajax, whereas I’m focused on Manchester United. Obviously, I’m more than willing and prepared to assist Erik and anybody else in the club in improving things.”
“I’m accessible whenever he has the time or wants to talk. However, I don’t want to contact him on my own account right now. But recruitment is crucial, and recruitment means getting in the best possible players for the football we want to play,” he says.
Can Ten Hag take United to where they belong?
Erik Ten Hag will be given a good transfer budget in the summer to rebuild the team according to the reports. The Dutchman is a master in building teams and winning with the players available to him.
United fans will be hoping that they will be seeing attacking and adventurous football next season. However, without Champions League football it’s going to be difficult to get in world-class players.
