Manchester United News: Simon Jordan blasts Anthony Martial

Manchester United News: Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has blasted Manchester United forward Anthony Martial regarding his comments on two former managers Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

After spending some time in the academy of CO Les Ulis, Anthony Martial joined Lyon’s youth setup.

He made his senior debut with Lyon in 2013 before moving to another French club Monaco. Martial gradually established himself in Monaco and became a very important player for them. His consistency in the Ligue 1 made him a very hot prospect in the market. In 2015, Martial decided to join the English Premier League club Manchester United.

After his arrival at Old Trafford, Martial managed to produce an instant impact. He won the FA Cup in his debut season and was United’s top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions. However, things turned out differently when Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho joined United.

While speaking to talkSPORT, Jordan accused Anthony Martial of being an “arrogant, entitled little nitwit” who is giving footballers a bad name.

Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford made things difficult for Martial. Initially even after having a place in the starting eleven, Martial could not replicate his last season’s performance. Then United signed Alexis Sanchez which resulted in him getting far less game time.

In an exclusive interview with France Football, martial revealed that this Sanchez move cost him a place in the world cup.

Things turned worse when Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic was signed and Martial’s no.9 short was taken away from him.

Then Jose Mourinho left the club, and former United player Ole Gunnar Solskjær was given the role of the manager. Meanwhile Martial started to get frequently injured.

However, in spite of recovering from these injuries and pain Martial had to play for the team because of Solskjær’s request. This move ultimately limited his performance and made his injuries worse.

On top of that Solskjær hid these facts and martial was made an easy scapegoat. While taking a shot at the former United coach, the forward described this fiasco as “a treachery”.

Then Ralf Rangnick arrived at United, and Martial was sent on loan at Sevilla. But the French forward did not fare well even in Spain and scored just one goal for the Spanish club.

While pointing this out, Jordan said, “I’m assuming that it was too hot in Sevilla, so it wasn’t his fault either. At what point does someone say to this fella, ‘shut up?”

After Erik ten hag’s arrival, it was thought that Martial will finally have a bigger role in the club. But the forward could only play 45 minutes in this ongoing season due to an Achilles problem.

United had a poor start to the season and lost their first two matches. However, since then they have made a superb comeback and won the next four matches. United is now placed in fifth place in the table. The Red Devils will face FC Sheriff Tiraspol in their next outing.
