With Manchester City storming to the Premier League title, Jose Mourinho and Manchester United have decided to bring in reinforcements but they need to clear out a few players first.
The Red Devils haven’t had the worst season, with second place confirmed for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired from the beautiful game. However under Jose Mourinho, Manchester United have seen their team re-surge into dominance in the Premier League, getting Champions League football back after a treble-winning debut season winning the EFL Cup, English super Cup, and the Europa League.
However, this season has seen the Manchester City dominate and rampage through the Premier League to a title-winning season, with five games in hand. However, according to reports from the Metro.co.uk, the Portuguese manager is set to be handed 150 million to fund reinforcements during the summer window, with the club also planning a mass exodus.
The likes of Daley Blind, and Matteo Darmian have been deemed surplus to requirements, with Serie A giants Juventus and Roma very interested in signing them. Also former Southampton star Luke Shaw and Ashley Young could potentially leave, with Manchester United targeting Alex Sandro and Danny Rose.
Not only that, the Red Devils have also targeted Jorginho, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and even Fred to reinforce their midfield, with Marouane Fellaini’s future in doubt. Record signing Paul Pogba also does seem to be on the way out, with reports stating a feud between manager and star and Real Madrid again very interested.
Meanwhile, both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been targeted by Europe’s biggest sides and could further add to Manchester United’s problems next season, alongside David De Gea. The Golden Glove winner for the 2017/18 season, has been a Real Madrid target for quite some-time and with Keylor Navas struggling this season, things could certainly change during the summer window.
Manchester United don’t need to spend too much money to reinforce their squad, just enough to bring in new full-backs and Michael Carrick’s replacement. Not only that the club needs to find a way to keep David De Gea, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Paul Pogba before anything else.
