Manchester United Transfer News: West Ham United has set up a £150 million price tag on Declan Rice. Hence the Red Devils would have to break the British record if they are to land the midfielder in the summer. 

West Ham United has been a quality side under David Moyes in recent seasons. The Hammers qualified to the Europa League last season. And given their current positioning in the Premier League, the Hammers could repeat this feat once again. 

The collective team effort has been lauded by fans and pundits alike. David Moyes has also received his fair share of appreciation. The Scottish manager has transformed the club completely in the last few years. 

One of Moyes’ main players at West Ham United has been Declan Rice. The England international currently captains the Hammers and is considered by many as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League currently.

As per the Daily Mail, Declan Rice has reportedly refused to sign a new contract with West Ham United. Owing to this, the Hammers have placed a hefty price tag on their instrumental leader. 

West Ham United is reportedly ready to sell Declan Rice in the summer. But the London-based club wants to be paid £150 million in transfer fee for the player. Hence any club winning to sign the midfielder should have to break the British record. 

Manchester City created a new British record after they signed Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100 million. Hence any club willing to sign the West Ham United captain should be ready to shatter this record by a whopping £50 million. 

Despite the hefty price tag, Manchester United is still interested in the midfielder as per reports. The Red Devils could be losing out on both Paul Pogba and Donny Van De Beek in the summer. Hence they want to sign an able replacement. 

Chelsea is reportedly the biggest challengers for signing the midfielder. The Blues have also shown their interest in the past. But given their current situation with Roman Abramovich, the Blues won’t be able to interfere in this deal.

Owing to this, Manchester United feels that they could bargain for Declan Rice and bring the price down. With just 2-years remaining in the midfielder’s contract with West Ham, this transfer window would be the best time to sell the esteemed player.
