As per the Daily Mail, Declan Rice has reportedly refused to sign a new contract with West Ham United. Owing to this, the Hammers have placed a hefty price tag on their instrumental leader.
West Ham United is reportedly ready to sell Declan Rice in the summer. But the London-based club wants to be paid £150 million in transfer fee for the player. Hence any club winning to sign the midfielder should have to break the British record.
Manchester City created a new British record after they signed Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100 million. Hence any club willing to sign the West Ham United captain should be ready to shatter this record by a whopping £50 million.
Despite the hefty price tag, Manchester United is still interested in the midfielder as per reports. The Red Devils could be losing out on both Paul Pogba and Donny Van De Beek in the summer. Hence they want to sign an able replacement.
Chelsea is reportedly the biggest challengers for signing the midfielder. The Blues have also shown their interest in the past. But given their current situation with Roman Abramovich, the Blues won’t be able to interfere in this deal.
Owing to this, Manchester United feels that they could bargain for Declan Rice and bring the price down. With just 2-years remaining in the midfielder’s contract with West Ham, this transfer window would be the best time to sell the esteemed player.
