Manchester United ran rampage in the first half against Leicester City cruising to a 4 goal lead. Jose Mourinho surprised everyone with the exclusion of Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney and that really proved crucial on the pitch. In Rooney’s absence Herrera looked to have delivered his hammer on his position in midfield after a great display against Northampton and taking it forward against Leicester ad he let Paul Pogba finally showcase his plethora of talent to those who started pointing fingers at him.
Paul Pogba literally was running the show for Manchester United today, making runs into the boxes, linking up the play with forwards, exclusive passes and he added to his performance with a great headed goal.
Juan Mata also took his chance as he restored his place in the starting XI and finished of a sumptuous move from United. He looked to making things happen quietly in that Wayne Rooney position.
Jesse Lingard too gave a solid performance after his horrific display against City. He set up Juan Mata for the second goal and made some great runs behind the defense. He also was making it difficult for the Leicester defenders with his without the ball abilities.

Hardly had anything to do throughout the game. Couldn’t have done anything for the Demary Gray goal but made a great save later on from the English teenager’s shot.
Antonio Valencia – 7/10
He gave United a lot going forward and was a total menace to deal with, linked up really well on the right side with Jesse Lingard. Puts in some great crosses too.
Eric Bailly – 7/10
He didn’t let Vardy have a touch in the first half, completely ruled the English striker and won everything in the air and also made some crucial tackles.
Chris Smalling – 7/10
Gave United the lead as he put on the Captain’s armband in the absence of Wayne Rooney, also good solid display in the defense.
Daley Blind – 8.5/10
What a game he had. Created two chances from the corners and got two assists. Linked in really well on the left side also kept Mahrez quiet and was really well going forward.
Ander Herrera – 8/10
Took the chance and showed his class. Let Pogba play his game as he covered the scrapes.
Paul Pogba – 9/10
His best game in the United shirt. Completely bossed the game. Created ample of chances and looked authoritative.
Juan Mata – 7/10
Had a good game and scored the second goal for United. Was very creative and decisive in his general play.
Jesse Lingard – 7/10
A lovely flick to set up Juan Mata and looked busy throughout the game as he kept on working hard off the ball.
Marcus Rashford – 8/10
Squandered a great chance early on in the game but made up for it with a tap in from the corner. His pace was too much to deal with for Leicester’s defense.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 6/10
Had a very quiet game for his standards, involved in a great move with Pogba but failed to finish it off.
