The Manchester United legend has also made headlines again after having a controversial interview and criticised his both current and former managers and also the Manchester United hierarchy.
Alejandro Garnacho has been a massive revelation who mostly starts from the bench. The starlet has missed out on the World Cup Argentina squad which was normal, as they have bigger names in that position.
Many pundits and former United players have praised the Argentine’s performance over the past few games. But his speed was the reason United secured a victory against Fulham. Fulham star performer Joao Palhinha took a dig by saying: “Football is like this, sometimes the best team doesn’t win.”
Gary Neville and Tim Sherwood Compare Garnacho With Cristiano Ronaldo
United legend Gary Neville hailed the youngster’s performance this season. He said: “He’s got something about him, no doubt about it”. The former English right-back also explained how similar their goals were. He mentioned: “I remember Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a solo goal from that side many many years ago that won United the game, but not as late as this.”
The former Tottenham boss, Tim Sherwood did not like how the player is being nurtured by the manager. He even criticised Bruno Fernandes for publicly revealing Garnacho’s attitude.
Talking to Sky Sports, he said: “Don’t like the noise coming out from Bruno [Fernandes] and the manager the other day. I never knew he had a bad attitude problem until they highlighted it. It is ridiculous, just do it in-house.”
But Sherwood also compared the 18-year-old with Manchester United great Cristiano Ronaldo. He said: “Listen, he has got a long way to go but he is the closest thing I have seen to Ronaldo.”
Erik Ten Hag on Garnacho after Manchester United Win
When asked about Garnacho’s performance, the manager praised the young talent. He said: “‘Well done!'”
The Dutch manager also added: “Alejandro Garnacho had a big impact in the win, he [finished] also, then the spotlight is on that and that is also justified because it was a great finish because that is what you expect from subs coming in.”
Garnacho has made one start so far in the Premier League. But the youngster has appeared in several games from the bench in the cup competitions. The young man with a lot of potential can become a future first-team star.
The player had also a big impact against Aston Villa after providing two assists in the last 30 minutes of the game. Garnacho scored his first Europa League goal against Real Sociedad as well.
