Manchester United star midfielder returns back to training ahead of Spurs clash

It is proving to be an exciting day in the office for Manchester United. The Old Trafford side might avoid facing Premier League top scorer Harry Kane when they face the Lilywhites this weekend. While Kane seems doubtful, star United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly hit back at the training ground. Though the Frenchman may not play against Spurs, this is a brilliant news for the Red Devils.

Pogba back at Carrington

Manchester United player Jesse Lingard posted an Instagram story after netting twice against Swansea in the League Cup tie. The story featured Paul Pogba, who imitated Lingard’s celebration. Pogba sustained a hamstring injury in the Champions League clash against Basel and was recovering in Miami.

United though got off to a flyer in the Premier League this season, have struggled without Pogba and Fellaini, who is also sidelined with an injury. The midfield duo of Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera have seemed a bit off color as they have failed to provide quality to Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

When is Pogba hitting back at the pitch?

Even though Pogba was seen at the training ground, it is reported by Manchester Evening News that he will not participate in open team training ahead of the Spurs clash. Instead, L’Equipe reports that he might feature against Chelsea on November 5, but with an international break scheduled after the match, it is highly likely that the record signing might be given an extended break.

Pogba started the season an incredible note, stringing well with Lukaku. The Frenchman was a standout performer for the Old Trafford side as he surged forward as well as his passing seemed pinpoint. An injury has certainly hampered both his as well as his team’s progress.

Author’s Take

Though heavily criticized for not making a substantial impact on his return to the Old Trafford, Pogba has looked a different player altogether this season. The 24-year old was named the Europa League player of the season, and there has been no looking back for the former Juventus man. Although he was accused of losing his Turin touch, the midfielder has silenced his critics well and his return would certainly boost the United camp.
