Massive news for Barcelona in the transfer market: transfer record to be shattered

Barcelona is finally set to rope in down Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool after a long and tedious transfer saga.

SportΒ report that the midfielder’s agents have arrived in Barcelona to put the finishing to touches to a long awaited deal for the Blaugrana. Barcelona are in dire need of a successor to the incredible Andres Iniesta and Coutinho has been earmarked for that role for quite some time now. It is understood that the former Inter man will move for a fee of around Β£140 million.

Philippe Coutinho has been one of Liverpool’s best players for more than a year now and the move will be a massive blow to Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of finishing in the top four. The Brzilian is an excellent passer and should fit into Valverde’s scheme in no time. The final paperwork may get completed as you finish reading this piece.

Author’s take

We have waited for a very long time to see some real stuff to happen about the Coutinho transfer saga. The reports are coming in quickly and have an air of confidence about them. One may wonder that it is now a case of when instead of whether.
