Guendouzi was someone who was considered to be a bright prospect for Arsenal. The player was enjoying a good run with Arsenal as some of the senior team players were out due to injuries.
Guendouzi was in good form for the Gunners. He had 34 apperances to his name with 3 goals and 8 assists to his name. However after the incident with Neal Maupay in the Brighton game it all went South for the Frenchman.
Guendouzi has had issues in his attitude towards the game since his time with Lorient. His manager said that if he could keep his mind straight he would be an exceptional player. After the incident at Brighton, something happened in the Arsenal camp too.
For a period Guendouzi was even training alone. It was evident that he was not gonna feature in the Arsenal squad and Mikel Arteta soon offloaded him on a loan deal to Hertha Berlin.

This Premier League season has been a rather disappointing one for Arsenal, Guendouzi on the other hand has fared well with the German outfit. He has now become an important part of the German club.
Hertha Berlin could try and sign him on a permanent deal but apparently that is off the books. However Guendouzi will probably be a part of Arsenal’s overhaul next season as he has attracted interest from Europe.
Marseille keen on recruiting Guendouzi from Arsenal:

Matteo Guendouzi is a fierce competitor when on the pitch. This was his stand-out quality whenever he was playing. A lot of people pegged him to have a long and illustrious career at Arsenal.
However, our beloved game often has a tendency to deal out uncanny surprises. Such is the case with Guendouzi now. He certainly has talent and at just the age of 22, he still has his whole career ahead of him.
According to reports from  Le 10 Sport, Marseille are interested in the Frenchman’s services and leading the race for him. His current market value stands at around £18 million.
A quite comfortable amount for the likes of Marseille to pay. Guendouzi’s contract with Arsenal is till 2022. There haven’t been any talks of an extension which further hints that his departure is imminent.
It can be a good move for all parties as Arsenal will have some funds heading towards their transfer budget. Guendouzi on the other hand will be back to his home turf and Marseille will have a good strong player on their hands.
Mikel Arteta has a lot of decisions on his hand but this would be a rather simple one for him. There was obvious love lost between the club and the player and this deal might be the best thing for both parties.
