Maurizio Sarri States Another Bumper Contract Extension On The Cards for Superstar

According to the latest news, Blues fans will be glad to hear that manager Maurizio Sarri has stated that Chelsea is preparing to offer a bumper new contract for club talisman Eden Hazard immediately.

After tying down key players in the form of N’golo Kante and Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea is now hoping to keep hold of Belgian star winger Eden Hazard. Hazard has been sensational for Chelsea in the opening few games of the new season but there is always the possibility of the 27-year-old leaving Stamford Bridge.

La Liga giants Real Madrid have made it clear that they want to lure Hazard to the Santiago Bernabeu and will try again in the winter transfer window. Even Hazard stated that a transfer to the Spanish capital would be a ‘dream move’.

Hazard’s current Chelsea contract expires in the summer of 2020 and has also stated his love for the Blues. But having stalled contract extensions in the past, Chelsea manager has stated that if Hazard wants to pen a new deal, the contract which is on standby will be done immediately.

Sarri spoke to reporters and said that Hazard’s importance at the club is crucial but the Belgian’s future lies in his own hands, “You know very well Eden is very important for us, like every special player. He’s important for this club. It’s up to him, I think. The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not. I don’t know. But it’s up to him, for sure. I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay. I know very well there are discussions between the club and the manager of Eden every week, so if there is something new, the club will call me immediately.”

Author’s Take

Hazard is very important for Chelsea and there is no doubt that Real Madrid will come knocking on Chelsea’s door in the January transfer window. However, Chelsea has to ensure that they try their best in order to keep Hazard at Stamford Bridge for as long as possible.
