Lionel Messi tells the Barca board who the next signing should be
Close to 200 Million Euros already spent and the diminutive Argentine maestro still wants more. He has communicated his desire to have Real Sociedad full-back, Alvaro Odriozola at the Camp Nou in the near future.
The young Spaniard has become an integral part of this Real Sociedad side at a tender age of 22. Already making 18 appearances in La Liga, Odriozola prefers to play on the right wing either as a full-back or as a winger.

To start, Barcelona is short on players in the right back position. Considering Aleix Vidal’s inevitable departure and the return of Sergi Roberto to his natural midfield role leaves only Semedo as a natural right back in the team.
Odriozola himself is a player who can certainly adapt to Barcelona’s style of play. A player who loves joining in the attacks. He has chipped in with 4 assists this season and could provide some competition to Semedo for his spot in the starting line up.
Getting his signature will not be as easy as it seems, with reports suggesting that Real Madrid has shown interest in signing the 22-year-old Spaniard.
Barcelona has recently completed the signings of Phillipe Coutinho and Yerry Mina from Liverpool and Palmerias respectively. Both the South Americans’ arrival will solve Barcelona’s immediate squad deficiencies.
A transfer that Barcelona isn’t really desperate for. Odriozola is just in his second season of senior football, and although has shown great potential, I feel he’s still not ready to make the jump to Barcelona. In a couple of years it may be a good signing but as of now the Catalan side should look elsewhere for cover at the right back position
