Liverpool has again become an attractive destination for players in Europe under Jurgen Klopp.
A player in Europe must be thinking “I fancy joining Liverpool, I can see what they’re doing”,
Such Bold transfer claim made that will please Jurgen Klopp in future.
That’s according to former Premier League midfielder Michael Brown, who says Jurgen Klopp has brought the swagger back to Anfield.
The Reds sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League after going unbeaten in their first 18 games of the season.
Manchester City’s shock 3-2 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday. They’re first at the Etihad in eight months, has left Jurgen Klopp’s side in the driving seat at Christmas.
And Brown believes players in Europe will fancy joining Liverpool now they’ve become ‘attractive’.
“I think Liverpool have now turned a corner, they have become attractive,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.
“A couple of years ago they were in that lull where there was gonna be lots of change.
I think now with the manager Klopp and the players they’ve got, [Virgil] Van Dijk, we’re talking Mo Salah, [Philippe] Coutinho moves on. I think they’re now attractive.
It all depends if Manchester City stays on the top of their game, they are better than Liverpool.
But, again, they have to do it week in week out and they didn’t do it [against Crystal Palace].”
After romping home to the title in record-breaking fashion last term, City were big favourites to retain their crown in 2018/19.
Momentum is now with Liverpool, nevertheless, and former Wolves and QPR midfielder Karl Henry thinks it is theirs to lose.
But it’s Liverpool’s now to lose, isn’t it?” he said.
”Liverpool have got the advantage, it’s theirs to lose.
“And if they can beat Manchester City early January then it’s theirs to lose, and it just comes down to bottle then. That’s all it comes down to.”
Author’s take:
Ever since Klopp has joined Liverpool, he has been devoted to bringing the best out of his squad.
The results came out roaring as they sit four points clear in the EPL table of the Premier League this year becoming the Christmas leaders and going unbeaten in the first 18 games of the season.
