Michy Batshuayi has reportedly been allowed to leave Chelsea the coming summer. The club has been enjoying a great spell under Thomas Tuchel. However, that also means some sacrifices. Along with other few players, Batshuayi, who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace, will be finding it difficult to secure a spot in the first-team.

The Belgian international enjoyed a very wide start to his career. He shifted his youth training in between 4 clubs in a span of 6 years. He finally settled for the Belgian club, Standard Liege in 2009 and went on to make his professional debut there. Batshuayi got his debut after developing himself at the club for 2 years.

His spell at his hometown was brilliant as he went on to make 120 appearances and score 44 goals in 3 years with the club. In 2014, he joined the Ligue 1 side, Marseille. Although the club wasn’t in its best form, Batshuayi was. He continued his form in France and scored 33 goals in 78 outings.

After 2 seasons there, he had attracted interests from the Premier League because of which 3 clubs were battling for him. However, Chelsea won the race which cost them £33.2 million. He was lucky as in his first season itself he won the League title.

Although his goal-scoring form wasn’t good, he was given the trust from then manager Antonio Conte. The 2017-18 season was also tough and after Conte was sacked, he was sent out on loan. His initial one was with Borussia Dortmund but it was cut short due to an injury.

The following season he joined Valencia for another half-season spell. It continued again when he joined Crystal Palace in January. After a break of one year, he rejoined them again in September.

Batshuayi doesn’t have a future at Chelsea

Despite joining Chelsea in 2016, Batshuayi has only been able to play 77 matches. His only break from the loan spell came under Frank Lampard’s period when he played a whole season. But the following season he was again out on loan. Batshuayi has been struggling with form as he has only scored 2 goals this season for The Eagles.

Chelsea are in one of the greatest forms and are very close to securing a top-4 spot, all thanks to Thomas Tuchel. Frank had given a great start, but midway through the season, the team struggled, dropping them from the top to the mid-table. This resulted in his sacking, which eventually introduced the German.

From the moment he stepped in, Chelsea became a whole new team. It was clearly visible from their performances. They hardly conceded a goal and rarely lost. Thanks to that form, they are back in the top-4 race with only 1 more fixture remaining.

They could have won the FA Cup, but lost to Leicester City. However, they got the perfect revenge on them as they played them in the League fixture a few days later. Chelsea won 2-1, hampering The Foxes’ hope of making it to the Champions League. After that win, Chelsea are now 3rd, a point ahead of Liverpool, who leapfrogged Leicester thanks to the superior goal difference.

Given the success, The Blues are currently enjoying, Mitchy Batshuayi doesn’t look like having a future here. Tuchel already has plenty of strikers with most of them still fighting for a spot. So Batshuayi might be allowed to leave.

According to a report from Ajansspor, the Turkish side, Trabzonspor have shown interest in the player who will be out of contract next season. They are hoping to land him initially on loan, with an option to buy.
