Alvaro Morata was the latest addition to the Real Madrid’s squad after the club triggered his buy back clause at Juventus this summer. It took the Spanish club two seasons and a defeat in champions league semi final to realise this man’s true potential. The 24-year-old striker had performed great at the Italian club and was expected to do even better at Real Madrid. However, to most people’s surprise, this young player has become an option to Real’s Karim Benzema.
On being asked by Marca about his time on the field as well as his expectations for the club, he answered:” I’m tired of being a super-sub, about all the questions over playing time and, if I don’t play, my mood,”.
The player is performing well in whatever match time he is being given, and there is no question of him being low on performance. The La Blancos product has scored six goals in his last six matches with his latest one being against Leganes where Real Madrid won 3-0.
Despite giving a top performance, the player has a clear picture of who key player in the club is. “Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who can score five goals in a single match” he states enthusiastically.
Talking about Real’s latest fixtures, the man seems confident enough by saying ” Madrid Derby are the kinds of fixtures which can win you the league title”.
As Real Madrid face Atletico Madrid soon after the international break, it would be interesting to see what strategy can Zidane come up with against their local rivals.
