Dani Pedrosa, the 31-time MotoGP race winner, will make his comeback as a wildcard for KTM in the Spanish Grand Prix. The Spanish rider will participate in the race which is scheduled to take place on May 5-7 at the Circuito de Jerez.
Pedrosa, who retired from full-time competition in 2018, joined KTM as a test rider in 2019 and has been leading the development of the RC16 motorcycle.
He made his debut for KTM in the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix, where he was involved in an incident with Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori, which resulted in a huge fireball. Despite the incident, Pedrosa was able to restart the race and finished in 10th place.
KTM team manager Francesco Guidotti is excited about Pedrosa’s return to MotoGP and believes that Jerez is a perfect location for the race.
