However high one scopes in the life, however far one goes, the need for leisure and amusement marches along. Must be same with Man United star Anthony Martial, when he had flown to his homeland Paris after he was left out of the club’s squad for their 1-1 draw with Stroke City in the Premier League this Saturday.
There remained a suspense over the club manager Jose Mourinho’s silence over it. But when he spoke up, it was evident that he did not have any trouble with Martial’s travel. Instead, he called up in the favour of Anthony’s trip, “If for him, it was better to go to Paris, that’s completely fine”.
Though at first sight Mourhino’s words seem a reflection of admiration for the French footballer, cause the latter has been performing superbly since his very first match in the club in 2015, and also his calibre to be most expensive young player of football so far, it’s not so.
Mourinho affirms that he is absolutely fine with players having a refreshment trip, or visits to their homes or wherever they liked, provided their non-involvement in match day squad. He genuinely believes in relaxation and enjoyment needs of players. “We don’t have many days off, so I like to give the players some freedom to choose if they need a weekend off if they are not selected”, he affirmed.
Perhaps it is this generosity of Mourinho that has acquired him the apex popularity and the fame as one of the best coaches and managers around the globe.
Notably, Manchester United are looking forward to having their next game with Wigan Athletic this weekend.
