Jose Mourinho was recently shown the door by Manchester united following a string of poor performances which saw the club drift away from the top 4 spots
Former Manchester united forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as the interim manager of Manchester United. Reports suggest that Real Madrid are interested in bringing Mourinho back to the Bernabeu. Jose Moruinho had previously managed the Los Blancos for three seasons between 2009-10 to 2012-13. He delivered the La Liga crown among a host of other trophies during his time in the capital. Real Madrid sold their star man Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in the summer, and have been keeping tabs on Eden Hazard to replace the iconic Portuguese ever since. Pundit Alex Goldberg feels that Mourinho joining Madrid would not prevent Hazard from doing so,
“Honestly no [I don’t think Mourinho moving to Real Madrid would keep Eden Hazard at Chelsea], because Hazard did say he’d like to work with Mourinho again,” he told the Calcioland podcast.
“That ended badly with Mourinho and Hazard and really the rest of the Chelsea group.
“This is the thing with Mourinho, when it gets ugly usually in that third year and he leaves, the papers write about the star that he had a row with, in this case it was [Paul] Pogba, but in that year with Chelsea it was probably Hazard first and foremost.
“Even though it was not nearly as nasty as the one with Pogba, but nonetheless he’s always kind of had a row with a star, so the papers made it seem like it was Hazard, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas almost.
“But there was kind of a mutual respect between Hazard and Mourinho once Mourinho left. Hazard even talked about sending him a text message and wishing him well and I think vice-versa.
“So, honestly, if Mourinho went to Real Madrid I don’t think that would end it. If Antonio Conte went to Real Madrid, that would end it. Eden Hazard does not wanna play anymore football under Antonio Conte.
It does seem highly likely that Madrid would come for Hazard sooner rather than later, as they have been lacking goals ever since Cristiano’s departure. And honestly, Hazard wouldn’t really mind playing under Mourinho.
