During the latest press conference, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has clearly explained what he expects from his players at the club.

After a disappointing 0-0 draw at Old Trafford against the newly promoted Hull City, Jose Mourinho admits that his players need to be more clinical. It was the 9th draw for Manchester United this season in Premier League and the most by any team.

Mourinho believes that some of his players are yet to gel with the new tactics and philosophy compared to the one Louis Van Gaal implemented.

He said: “I told you in the first press conference, or second, that I was speaking about being champions because I don’t think there is another position a manager can have at this club.”

Mourinho added that players need time to adjust to new conditions and the pressure. He also claims that some of the players need to go out of their comfort zone.

“I didn’t know the players very well,” Mourinho said. “I didn’t know some players need time to live with this because it must be part of your natural habitat. Play to win, responsibility to win, cope with the pressure to win. They also need that time to go out of their comfort zone or a zone where they are protected that we assume the objective is not to win – that also takes time.”

With just 33 goals scored in Premier League this season, Mourinho’s side are the worst among the top six teams. After consecutive draws in three matches, it is highly unlikely that Man United will finish in top four this season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored 14 Premier League goals this season, but there isn’t any player who is closer to him. Juan Mata and Paul Pogba are the joint second top goal scorers for Man United with seven goals.

“I have to agree with you that we don’t score enough goals,” Mourinho told the reporters. “Some of our players from these attacking creative positions they could, they should score more goals.”

Manchester United will travel to King Power Stadium to face the Champions Leicester City on Sunday. Both the teams will be looking to win the match and secure the valuable three points.

Mourinho said “What Leicester did is one of the big things in the world of football. Total respect for what they did. Next season will be much better for them. It will be a tough game for us but it will also be difficult for them.”
