Former Indian Cricket Team Selector talks about MS Dhoni’s fitness and backs him to make his Indian Team comeback.

There have been a lot of speculations about MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian Cricket Team. MS Dhoni has been out of the game since India’s semi-final exit against New Zealand in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. He was ready to make his come back for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced BCCI to postpone the IPL indefinitely. This halted his comeback.

MS Dhoni was ready to use the IPL to make himself available for selection in the ICC World T20 2020. Now, with the IPL out of the way, fans are not sure when the former Indian captain will make his comeback.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Kiran More talked about the situation concerning MS Dhoni. He said that it will be difficult for MS Dhoni to make a comeback but it will be entirely his own decision. More even said that Dhoni looked fit and ready before the IPL.

“It’s very difficult, it’s his call. It’s going to be tough, not going to be easy. Mind says you want to, but the body does not allow. Before IPL, he was fit, I saw him in the nets, he was raring to go. In tennis, guys of 34, 39 are on top of their game. Now if you are disciplined, if you keep your mind and body strong you can make a comeback. Ashish Nehra made a comeback and did very well,” Kiran More said.

Indian cricketer Suresh Raina earlier said that MS Dhoni has a had good practice in the nets at the Chennai Super Kings training camp before the start of the IPL. He even said that Dhoni is practising differently for the IPL this year, unlike the previous years.

“The first few days he took it lightly and just focused on going to the gym but he was playing the shots beautifully and his fitness level was great and he was not getting tired.

His preparations were different this time, I have played with him over the years with the national side and IPL getting ready but it was different this time, so I just hope the matches can start quickly then everyone can see how well prepared he is and see what I saw myself LIVE in the two months of camp that we had,” Raina said during the latest episode of Star Sports’ Cricket Connected chat show.

There have been a lot of debates over MS Dhoni’s future in recent weeks. Most of the former cricketers opine that Dhoni’s time in the National colours is over. Now, it will be interesting to see what happens eventually.
