John Wall acknowledged that he contemplated suicide three years ago, at the height of the Covid-19 outbreak, while he was dealing with a torn Achilles and the loss of family members.

The guard is eager to return to his best this upcoming season after just signing with the Los Angeles Clippers. Wall has only played in 40 games over the past three years due to injuries, Covid-19, and his former team, the Houston Rockets, not playing him before he joined the Clippers.

Wall, 31, spoke about his recent past during a garden dedication for his late mother that was conducted at the Salvation Army in Raleigh, North Carolina, earlier this month. His mother had worked at the place as a volunteer.

“The darkest place I’ve ever been in,” the five-time All-Star said

“The darkest place I’ve ever been in,” the five-time All-Star said of it. “There was a time when I contemplated suicide. My mother was receiving chemotherapy, I tore my Achilles, my mother passed away, and my grandma also died a year later. I was sitting next to my mother as she breathed her last breaths while donning the same dress she had been wearing nonstop for three days and coping with Covid at the same time.

Mother of Wall, Frances Pulley, died of breast cancer in December 2019 at the age of 58. His grandmother afterwards passed away. Wall was having trouble recovering from an Achilles ailment at the same time.

“Nobody has an easy life,” Wall said

“Nobody has an easy life; we all go through ups and downs. However, few people, in my opinion, could withstand what I did,” Wall said.

And this important period means a lot to me because it allows me to return to the top, where I want to be, see that people still love me, and have support from my hometown. I looked for a counsellor. Many people think they can solve their difficulties on their own without help. To find out what is best for you, you must, however, be honest with yourself.

He thought, “If I can go through this, I can get through anything in life,” after seeing everything.

Star Lakers player LeBron James’ production company tweeted, “We’ve got your back, @John Wall. Always.” James tweeted as a response: “And by ALWAYS, I mean IT! Never doubt it, my brother! I’m delighted for you, @JohnWall.
