LeBron James and company, though, were quickly reminded of one significant issue they are facing heading into the next season by an unnamed league source. The superstar big man, Anthony Davis, who has so far been limited by injuries for the bulk of his Hollywood career, is nevertheless going to be greatly relied upon by the Lakers going forward.
That’s harsh yet also true at the same time. There is no denying that Davis is still one of the best big men in the game today. When he is on the court, of course. The issue is that his ailments have made it necessary for him to support his team from the sidelines, and it should go without saying that the Lakers do not require AD to do so.
Then there is the issue of Davis’ compatibility with LeBron. The 2020 NBA championship makes it clear that these two teams are not to be taken lightly.

The upcoming season will have a lot riding on it for the Lakers, and Anthony Davis will be under a lot of pressure. If he plays in another 40-game season, there may be serious concerns about his future with the franchise.
LeBron James is frequently regarded as one of the guys who just locks in on the basketball court. He doesn’t give a damn about what came before or what will happen next. He is simply present at this time. And to do so, one must have concentration levels that are almost beyond human capacity.
He doesn’t necessarily work nonstop just because he can. Far from it, in fact. There have been far too many absolutely hilarious instances of the King being silly over the years. He accomplishes this in a variety of ways, including singing or rapping along to background music both on and off the court.
Now, this isn’t necessarily a terrible thing. However, it has been reported that the man never quite understands the lyrics to the songs he is bopping along to. Heck, that even seems to be the case when he seems to be experiencing the song as though it were a thousand suns of energy rushing through his veins.
Now, this argument that the man was oblivious to the music’s words holds true for all but one song. There is no disputing that Los Angeles Lakers supporters are still quite excited about the possibility of a fresh start before the upcoming season. Even though the offseason has been mostly quiet, LA fans still hope that their favourite team will have a comeback season in 2022–23.
The possibility of dealing Russell Westbrook away to the Los Angeles Lakers is rapidly dissipating as the start of the new season approaches. The former league MVP is simply not drawing enough interest in the market, and it currently appears that the Lakers will have to stick with Russ.

That’s one perspective on the matter. However, it is obvious that this is far easier said than done. It won’t be long before Russell Westbrook is inducted into the Hall of Fame since he is one of the all-time greats. The former league MVP is not likely to take kindly to hearing that he will be playing off the bench at this juncture in his career.
But this is the unpleasant truth that Westbrook is currently dealing with. It does seem like he would offer much more value to LeBron James and the Lakers if he were to come off the bench based on what we saw from him last season. Now that Patrick Beverley is involved, this becomes even clearer.
