In the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers played one of the most exciting games (Feb 25th). With 2.2 seconds left, Jayson Tatum made a crucial 3-pointer to give the Celtics the victory.
Joel Embiid almost forced OT by making a long-range shot from the middle of the court. Replays revealed that he released the ball after time expired, giving Boston Celtics a 110-107 victory.
Although Joel Embiid exploded for 41 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks while shooting 57.1% from the field, Jayson Tatum collected 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Joel Embiid put on a monster effort, scoring a game-high 41 points, but Boston was able to hold on. After Tatum’s triple, he fired an errant three-quarter court shot, but it was obvious that he didn’t release the ball until the final buzzer.

Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers provide fans with a sneak peek of what the conference finals may hold
A historic match between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics was played. It had the air of a playoff, even a preview of a possible conference finals series, thanks to the two Eastern Conference contenders.
They have two of the NBA‘s deepest rosters. The 76ers, led by Joel Embiid and James Harden, are third in the Eastern Conference with a 39-20 record. Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, have the best record in the league at 44-17.
Up until the beginning of the third quarter, when Philadelphia grabbed a 15-point lead, the game was close. Yet Boston Celtics demonstrated why they have the league’s best record. The second-half surge by Tatum and Al Horford. They combined for 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 8-of-13 3-pointers. It helped Boston Celtics keep it close.
Early in the fourth quarter, they had a 10-point lead. But the Philadelphia 76ers didn’t back down and again tied the game. With 10.8 seconds left, Joel Embiid and James Harden each made two free throws to tie the score at 107-107 after they had trailed by four with one minute remaining.
Yet, it required the individual brilliance of their opposing team’s standout Jayson Tatum to secure the victory for his squad. Tatum made one of the smoothest NBA pull-up clutch 3-pointers.
