Ja Morant is now officially labeled as out on the Memphis Grizzlies’ injury report. Ja Morant recently involved in assault is facing a 2-games suspension. It seems like Tyus Jones is going to replace Ja and will take care of the team for a while.
As per the suspension, it might end on 9th March if the matter doesn’t get further limits. However, on 9th March Grizzlies have to face the Warriors. This could be a great comeback game for Ja Morant for sure.
Ja has only missed 9 games out of 62 this campaign for Grizzlies. Memphis is going 4-5 currently in that missed game G12. While Morant wasn’t available, Tyus Jones had solid, though not outstanding, performances.
Memphis Grizzlies might have to deal with this issue as playoffs are close enough. Ja Morant’s 2 game suspension will be a great challenge. Due to a PCL sprain in his right knee, Steven Adams is currently out. Dillon Brooks recently received his 16th foul against Nuggets. This led to his one game unavailability. So, Brooks won’t be able to play against the Clippers.
Moreover, Brandon Clarke of the Grizzlies suffered an ACL rupture last game. This might be it for the athletic forward. Brandon Clarke appeared to be an great asset which also helped in Memphis Grizzlies shine this season.

Ja Morant made a statement amid assault allegations

Recently Ja Morant shared a video of himself partying at a nightclub. In the mentioned video, he was seen clutching a pistol on Instagram. After the incident, it got viral instantly. The Memphis Grizzlies were defeated by the Denver Nuggets two nights prior to this incident. However, Ja was found to be partying instead.
The Grizzlies immediately suspended their point guard for two games when the video went viral. The NBA is now looking into the aforementioned occurrence as it is not what they expect from their athletes. After being given the formal sentence, Morant released the following statement:
“I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis, and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
Ja Morant promised to seek some “assistance”. Technically, this is a great decision to avoid future problems. Although, Ja might play against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. However, he will play unless he needs extra time to receive the “assistance” he wants. Despite this serious incident he might not face serious charges. This also as NBA insider Bobby Marks hinted earlier.
