In their away game against Houston, the Golden State Warriors witnessed a timely comeback from Klay Thompson. Warriors player Draymond Green provided insight on the guard’s comeback effort after Thompson lit it up against the Rockets to lead the club to their first road victory of the season.
The Golden State Warriors 2022–23 season has gotten off to a rocky start. The Dubs have underperformed early on after coming off a title run that put them in a position to contend for another this season.
The Warriors were also hampered by a streak of subpar road games, which added to the internal conflict and underwhelming performance of its young players.
An opponent for the championship should not have an 0-8 road record. A crucial player was also at a critical low period for the squad.

At the beginning of the season, Klay Thompson seemed to be in some discomfort. It is natural that Klay felt the effects of his ailments finally catching up to him after suffering through injuries for more than two years and competing for the title.
But because they discounted him as a contributor in the Warriors’ success, this element came up for debate among some pundits.
In their most recent victory over the Houston Rockets, the Warriors’ 32-year-old finally delivered for them. Klay was on fire, as the Dubs cruised to a 127-120 victory.
When asked to remark on what was different for Thompson in the game during the postgame interview, Green said:
“He’s acting like Klay Thompson, I see. He is more concerned with what will happen to this squad than with what happened to Klay. And Klay performs admirably and we triumph when he is concerned about what will happen to this squad.”
In Houston, Klay Thompson catches fire
On Sunday night against the Houston Rockets, the Golden State Warriors snapped an eight-game losing run on the road. This was greatly influenced by Klay Thompson’s outstanding and timely comeback effort.
Over the previous five games, Thompson’s performance has been around average. Even though the guard scored just 20 points, he still managed to help the club. Sadly, they didn’t lead to regular victories.
But it was clear that he would finally put on a tremendous shooting display. Klay steadily improved his scoring totals with each game until exploding for the Dubs at a vital moment.
With 41 points and a 76.9% 3-point shooting percentage on Sunday, Thompson appeared to be virtually unbeatable.
The performance complemented Steph Curry’s 33-point outburst flawlessly. At the Toyota Center, The Splash Brothers really put on a show.
