Vanessa Bryant, the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant’s wife, has struck a settlement of about $29 million. In a case involving illegal images taken at the scene of the terrible helicopter accident that killed her husband, their 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven other people in January 2020.
According to sources, Vanessa had filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly releasing deputies’ gruesome photos of the crash site, which included pictures of the victims’ corpses.
The images were shot and circulated for personal reasons. Those images invaded Vanessa Bryant’s privacy and resulted in emotional anguish, according to the lawsuit.
The deal, which was agreed upon on Wednesday, includes $5 million for Vanessa Bryant’s negligence claim. And $16 million for the deputies’ acts’ emotional suffering, and $7.5 million for her husband and daughter’s terrible deaths.
