Magic Johnson took over as President of Basketball Operations in 2017, succeeding Jim Buss in that role. Through his efforts, the team was able to secure the services of LeBron James. There, he revealed how he believed he might have been able to assist the Lakers in signing the star, who is worth $80 million.
