Skip Bayless Blames the Mavericks duo for their defeat: “CJ McCollum outclutched Kyrie and Luka”

After completing their most recent six-game homestand with a record of 3-3, the Dallas Mavericks began their most recent two-game road trip in the state of Louisiana. Even before the game began, it was clear that Luka Doncic and his teammates would have a significant advantage over a New Orleans Pelicans squad that did not feature Zion Williamson.

The expectations that Jason Kidd’s team had for the game were considerably exceeded by the Pelicans’ performance. NOLA prevailed in the game despite the fact that both Doncic and Kyrie Irving were playing at a high level.

CJ McCollum was able to record a career-high and game-high 32 points while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists throughout the 34:41 minutes that he spent playing on the floor.

The two guards received criticism from Skip Bayless after they suffered their sixth loss in nine games while playing together. Bayless stated that the All-Star squad consisting of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic will not be successful. On Twitter, the “UNDISPUTED” analyst wrote the following:

CJ McCollum had a better performance in the fourth quarter than Kyrie, who is known as Mr. Fourth Quarter. Luka, also known as Mr. 3 Quarters, had an injury to his thigh and was unable to finish this challenge. The loss brings Dallas’ record to 3-6 in games in which both Kyrie and Luka participated in the contest.

With an average of 21.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, McCollum has been leading the Pelicans in points, assists, and three-pointers this season.
