Stephen Curry has acknowledged that he aggressively encouraged the Golden State Warriors to sign Kevin Durant back to their roster. Stephen Curry has been called a loser his whole life, but this past season he won his fourth ring and the coveted Finals MVP trophy.
Just a few months after winning his fourth championship, the two-time MVP said it was great that Kevin Durant decided to come back to the Golden State Warriors.
"I never showed hesitation. Because of our three years of playing together and getting to know each other, I think KD is a pretty cool guy. He's been misinterpreted, in my opinion. In my opinion, he may not be able to trust those around him in the sense of always feeling safe because of certain events in his life. As a result of playing with him and getting to know him, I now understand all of those things. I adore that guy.
I had so much pleasure playing with KD those three years that if you said, "Oh, KD's coming back, and we're going to play with him," I'd be like, "Hell, yeah! You must next consider: what does that genuinely mean? How does it appear? When you tell me I'll be playing alongside [current Warriors teammates Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and Andrew Wiggins], I immediately say, "Hell, yeah!"
NBA News: Stephen Curry’s statement that he would welcome Kevin Durant back
Stephen Curry’s statement that he would welcome Kevin Durant back has caused him to drop out of the top 10. Basketball fans’ interpretations of this comment from Curry varied. While some people suggested that The Durantula and SC30 might work together again, the majority of people bashed the current Finals MVP for the idea.
In the opinion of many, The Baby-Faced Assassin's desire to play with the 2014 MVP, in the opinion of many, is damaging Skip Bayless' legacy. Skip Bayless is just one of many. In an "UNDISPUTED" episode, Bayless said:
Stephen has eliminated himself (from the top 10) by claiming, "Yeah, I won a ring without him, and boy, I would love to have him back." How could you, as a top-10 player, after going solo and winning your first Finals MVP,"Hell yeah, I advocate for us to go get Kevin and get him back," you say openly. Stephen is a kind guy. All of this stuff sells well, but it doesn't contribute to your legacy. Because you're saying, "I can't win another one without him," it destroys your legacy. I must have him here.
Even though it seems unlikely, the prospect of Steph and Durant collaborating in the future is intriguing.
Steph Curry Has Always Been the Target of Skip
One of the biggest detractors in the media is Skip Bayless. He has a lot of NBA goals, with LeBron James and Stephen Curry ranking among his top priorities. Bayless has recently targeted Curry, particularly now that he has just won his fourth NBA championship. Curry is frequently referred to as one of the top 10 players of all time, but Bayless doesn’t think it is accurate.
In Bayless’ opinion, Curry’s recent insightful remarks regarding Kevin Durant have improved his case. Curry basically stated that he would have supported a KD trade back to the Warriors and that he would have loved to play alongside Kevin Durant once more.
