Steph Curry, a standout for the Golden State Warriors, has made a number of noteworthy three-pointers during the course of his stellar career. The most well-known shot, though, occurred in 2016 during a regular-season matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, when ESPN’s Mike Breen famously called the shot “bang boom.”
With the release of a new pair of Curry sneakers on Saturday, this epic moment will now live on forever. Curry shared a fantastic teaser video for the new sneakers on Twitter to introduce the Curry 2 Bang Bang PE Retros. Along with the shoe’s name, it also described another unique method Breen was recognized.
The film includes a replay of Curry’s illustrious shot and shows Curry hand-delivering the sneakers to Breen. Breen gave Steph Curry a warm embrace and left a statement expressing how much this meant to him. That was a very great moment.
Curry remarked to Breen, “Seven years ago, you made one of the best calls in NBA history, the double bang. So as a thank you for that experience, I wanted to send you this. We returned the inspiration for the shoes I wore that evening.”

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors had some important business to take care of in 2016 before they became the NBA’s undisputed gold standard (no pun intended).
The Warriors and Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder were tied for first place in the regular season, setting up a dramatic Western Conference Finals matchup.
Steph Curry (who hit 12 three-pointers while scoring 46 great points) pulled up from 32 feet at the conclusion of the first overtime and sunk an outstanding shot for the 121-118 victory rather than allowing this battle of the giants to go into a second overtime.
The NBA community was alerted of Curry’s revelation and his gesture toward Breen. Several people give Curry credit for recognizing Breen’s contribution to his historic shot.
ESPN’s Mike Breen delivered one of the most iconic calls in recent NBA history. It was when Curry made a three-pointer in overtime—the double boom. Curry named his new Under Armour shoe line “Curry 2 Bang Bang PE Vintage”. It is in honor of Breen to honor the significant milestone in his career.
