With the LA Clippers, former All-Star guard John Wall has been making a good first impression. In the team’s 119-117 preseason loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, he put on yet another impressive performance (Oct. 9).
Wall played for slightly under 20 minutes and finished with a game-high 20 points. He also had a few notable highlight plays, such as a spin-move layup and a layup from behind the back.
After the game, Clippers reporter Tomer Azarly posted a video of Wall’s fellow All-Star teammate Paul George responding to his outstanding performance. George observed that Wall, who has endured years of ailments, is content and making the most of his chance.
“You observe a person having fun and enjoying the game. When it is taken away from you and you are unsure of what to do next, you appreciate it when you get the chance to get it back, George remarked.

Only 40 games have been played by John Wall since the 2018–19 season ended. This includes sitting out the whole 2019–2020 campaign due to an Achilles injury.
Additionally, Wall did not play a single minute for the Houston Rockets’ resurgent season last year. This summer, he eventually earned a buyout from the Rockets. Wall, who agreed to a two-year, $13.2 million contract with the LA Clippers this summer, is now healthy and prepared to play for a contending team.
John Wall’s expectations for the LA Clippers
Even though John Wall has played in five All-Star games, the LA Clippers won’t be expecting him to perform at a star level. Instead, he’ll probably play a more supplementary role to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the team’s two stars.
Tyronn Lue, the Clippers’ head coach, talked about Wall’s expectations in an interview with Tomer Azarly back when Wall initially joined with the team.
“He’s really fantastic addition to our team. I see a player that can keep things moving along quickly, provide easy looks for teammates, sprint downhill, attack, and make free throws. He and Reggie Jackson, in my opinion, make a great team. Simply the fact that they can each perform a variety of tasks”, Lue said.
The Clippers have a lot of dynamic two-way wings that can play many spots, thus their roster is designed for a fast-paced style of play. LA’s attack might reach new heights if Wall can use his quickness and playmaking skills to help the club advance the pace.
