“Would be crazy to stay in the (AFC) East,”- Buffalo Bills Jordan Poyer preparing himself to pitch to the Dolphins

Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer has yet to re-sign with the organization and is set to become a free agent, although he recently discussed signing with the Miami Dolphins on his podcast.

The Buffalo Bills are in a unique situation this offseason, as they are estimated to be $15.2 million above the salary limit, with contracts on key players expiring. 

And a roster that will require reinforcements after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional round.

Jordan Poyer’s position as a starting safety and experienced leader is uncertain because his contract is slated to expire this offseason. 

While the 31-year-old Jordan Poyer is still playing at a high level and has established himself as one of the league’s finest safeties, the Bills may be unable to keep him in Buffalo.

“To stay in the (AFC) East and come down to South Florida would be crazy,” Poyer stated. “I may have to put on my best suit and tie. I know Mike McDaniel will be there.”

Jordan Poyer led the Bills with four interceptions while placing seventh in total tackles with 63. 

Losing the veteran safety would be a significant blow to the Bills’ secondary, but the decision may come down to whether they would rather lose inside linebacker Tremaine Edmunds or Poyer.
