Tom Brady formally declared his retirement from the NFL earlier this month, and this time he insists it’s permanent after previously retiring and then returning after last season.
But nothing is keeping Brady from returning if he wants to, and one NFL analyst believes there’s a chance he’ll unretire again.
NFL expert Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk believes Tom could change his mind if the San Francisco 49ers pursue him.
“Tom Brady wanted to sign with the 49ers in 2020. The 49ers declined cordially. After the Brian Flores lawsuit ruined Brady’s covert plan to partner up with Sean Payton in Miami last year, “there may have been another effort to determine whether the moment was right for Tom to play for the team for which he grew up rooting,” Florio wrote on Thursday.
Even though he believes Tom Brady meant it when he declared he was retiring for real

“Now, with Jimmy Garoppolo finally moving on and real questions about Lance and Purdy, why shouldn’t the 49ers make a move for Tom Brady? It remains open even if they haven’t been able to fly through their championship window.” he continued
“Brady could be the missing piece to the first San Francisco Super Bowl victory in 29 years — since the 29th Super Bowl.”
It’s an outrageous supposition, and the NFL community reacted strongly on Twitter. Some were doubtful, while others believed it was possible.
