Odell Beckham Jr. Receives a Plea From Archie Manning for a Giants Reunion

After tearing his ACL during the Super Bowl victory last year, Odell Beckham Jr. is still an unsigned free agent. When the time comes, the former Los Angeles Ram will have no shortage of suitors, including his previous team, the New York Giants.

Many contenders who require wide receivers are interested as the wide receiver market is starting to heat up. According to the New York Post, Eli Manning’s father Archie thinks the Giants, who selected Beckham Jr., should be extremely interested:

“I’ve always been impressed with Odell’s talent. Odell is capable of recovering from injuries and still being a great athlete, despite the fact that I am aware that he has suffered a few setbacks.”

“Since the beginning, I’ve maintained that Odell should never have departed New York. I’ve always believed that Odell would have controlled New York if he had simply kept playing and ignored everything else.

Adding, “I believe so. I’m interested in seeing it. Odell will undoubtedly score for them. And I believe that sometimes as you age, you become wiser, you know?

Archie thinks Beckham Jr. may return and make an impact on a shockingly excellent team despite whatever issues he may have had with Eli Manning while he was in New York.

The Philadelphia Eagles lead the NFC East, and the New York Giants are 7-2 and only one games behind them.

When and where will Odell Beckham Jr. sign with an NFL team?

The wide receiver specifically named these four clubs last week:

“Whether it’s Buffalo, Green Bay calling, the Cowboys or the Giants reuniting. I want to be able to spill like my last. Not saying I only have three of four years left. But these next three of four years, into somewhere where I can buy a home,” he said.

Those four groups are clearly the front-runners to land him. As he nears a return, other competitors could enter the race. But for the Super Bowl champion wide receiver, just four are his current possibilities.

The Giants are currently 7-2 and have a good chance of beating Detroit to go to 8-2. The fact that they are winning games in a wide receivers league without wide receivers is a testament to the players, as well as to rookie coaches Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen, as well as to rookie general managers. The Giants would be the fifth seed and face Tampa Bay in the first round if the season ended tonight.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Beckham has been recovering from surgery and intends to sign with a team before the end of the month. By adding him for the next four or five games, the Giants can prevent their former first-round selection from going to Dallas.
