Despite his team’s rocky start to the season, Brady is still playing at a high level at the age of 45, which may force him to make a major choice this summer.

After returning to the NFL after a 40-day retirement this summer, everything indicates that this will be Tom Brady’s final season, with his FOX Sports commentary position awaiting.

Brady agreed to a 10-year, £320 million ($375 million) contract with the corporation to become a commentator following his retirement.

which many feels would occur at the end of this season due to his struggles on and off the field.

Brady’s downfall has been prophesied multiple times over the last decade, with professional observers expecting his play to ‘fall off a cliff since 2015.

Brady has won three more Super Bowls and an MVP award since then, all while maintaining his high level of performance.

And, while many believe that this will be Brady’s final season in the NFL, remarks from years past imply otherwise, indicating that he may play until he’s 48.

Brady stated in 2015, “I’d like to play a long time, absolutely, a long time.” There’s a lot that goes into being a good player. I’ve had many excellent teammates, but I want to play for a long time. Maybe another ten years. That, I believe, is my ultimate goal.”

“Well, it’s not always my fault. That’s what my aims are, so that’s all I’m hoping for. And it will take a lot to get there. Obviously, a team must desire you, but I believe that’s because I enjoy playing this sport. I enjoy making promises to my teammates and coaches, and I plan to continue doing so for a long time.”

Brady, who is set to become a free agent this summer if he stays in the NFL, will have an option of where to end his career.

Tampa Bay is among his favourite

After spending three seasons with them and constructing a roster around him to suit his style of play, Tampa Bay is clearly the favourite to keep him.

If the Buccaneers continue to flatter to deceive, it may be time for him to look elsewhere – to a team that believes they are a quarterback away from competing.

The San Francisco 49ers have long been rumoured to be interested in Brady, and that interest may become mutual this summer. Brady was raised in the city, where his parents and relatives now live.

And a return to the New England Patriots isn’t entirely out of the question, with his replacement, Mac Jones, floundering horribly in his second season under Bill Belichick, and the team likely searching for a new man, or at least competition for Jones, this summer.
