The hosts lost their first wicket in the form of Henry Nicholls. He got out after scoring only two runs from 12 balls. But Martin Guptill and Will Young put on a fascinating 203 runs partnership for the second wicket.

Martin Guptill went on to hit 106 runs from 123 balls and Will Young went on to hit 120 runs from 112 balls. As a result of that, New Zealand got into a very good position in the third ODI against the Netherlands.

New Zealand scored 333 runs with a loss of eight wickets in the first innings. Netherlands also had a good start in terms of the first wicket partnership. Both Stephan Myburgh and Max O’Dowd put on an 81 runs stand.

The visitors were all out after scoring 218 runs in the second innings. As a result of that, New Zealand won the game by 115 runs. They also won the three-match ODI series by a margin of 3-0 against Netherlands.
