PAK vs AUS: Pakistan’s off-spinner Sajid Khan is part of the 16-man squad for the upcoming home Test series against Australia. Pakistan cricket team are due to lock horns with Australia for an important assignment.
Pakistan will host Australia for 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and a solitary T20. Australia’s tour kicks off with the Test series with the first Test of the three-match Test series scheduled to kick off on March 4.
The first Test will kick off at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. On the other side of the coin, the second and third Test match will kick off on March 12 and March 21 respectively.
The second and third Test will kick off at National Stadium, Karachi and Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore respectively. Meanwhile, Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan has recently shed light on Shikhar Dhawan’s celebration.
The off-spinner made his Test debut in 2021. He has by far represented the Pakistan cricket team in 4 Tests. Moreover, he has already made a tremendous impact with the ball for his team.
He has accounted for 18 dismissals already. The off-spinner showcased his mettle against the Bangladesh cricket team in Mirpur last year. He went about his business and took a twelve-wicket match haul against Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the spinner has disclosed his Shikhar Dhawan-like celebration. Sajid Khan made it very clear that his Dhawan like-celebration is not being copied from the Indian opener.
In fact, he highlighted that he has already been even warned two times for his celebration in first-class cricket. It is cognizance of the fact that Shikhar Dhawan likes to execute his thigh celebration whenever he takes a catch.
On the other hand, Sajid Khan also performed the same kind of celebration of late. One must note that Shikhar Dhawan has been doing this type of celebration for quite a long time.
However, Sajid Khan echoed that he didn’t copy Shikhar Dhawan’s celebration. He said he has been doing the same celebration since school cricket. “Everyone has their own style and people say that I copy Shikhar Dhawan’s celebration,” he told in the pre-match conference ahead of Australia Tests.
“I have been doing this celebration since school cricket. Just to bring this under your notice that I have been fined twice for this celebration in first-class cricket,” the Pakistani off-spinner told during a press conference.
Meanwhile, Sajid Khan added that everyone is lauding his celebration. “Now everyone is appreciating this celebration.” On the other hand, Pakistan will host Australia for the first time since 1998.
