PAK vs WI: Pakistan cricket team are currently in Bangladesh for an important assignment. They were here to play three T20s and 2 Tests. The visitors whitewashed the hosts by winning all three games in the shortest format.

Pakistan won the first T20 by 4 wickets and took the first lead in the series. The visitors pressed the case in the second T20 and won the game by 8 wickets. After that, they won the third and final T20 by 5 wickets in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will look to carry their winning momentum into the Tests. The first Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan kicks off on November 26 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

The Green Shirts are due to lock horns with the Caribbeans next month at home. Meanwhile, Pakistan dealt a big blow to their arsenal as Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Mallik will skip the T20 series.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source gave an official confirmation regarding the same. In fact, Hafeez and Mallik had already skipped the recent T20 series in Bangladesh after the T20 World Cup 2021 in the Gulf nation.

Meanwhile, both Hafeez and Malik notified Pakistan team captain Babar Azam and head coach Saqlain Mushtaq that they will not turn up for the series owing to personal commitments.

A reliable PCB source added that Malik wants to focys on playing in T20 leagues. The source added that the national selectors should pick him for selection for important series only. “Malik has said that he wants to focus on playing in T20 leagues.

“Pakistani selectors should only consider him for selection for select and important series,” a reliable PCB source said. On the contrary, Hafeez said he is skipping the West Indies series as he is busy with the Lankan Premier League.

The source added that the Pakistani selectors should give a chance to some young players. Earlier, Hafeez skipped the T20 series against Bangladesh. Pakistan won the T20 series by 3-0 and are ready for the Test series.

“Basically it has been decided to now start giving more exposure to players like Haider Ali, Sohaib Maqsood, Khushdil Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Danish Aziz, Azam Khan” to prepare them for the future instead of waiting around for Hafeez and Malik,” the source added.

Hafeez is one of the top experienced players of Pakistan. The all-format player has played 119 T20Is for Pakistan wherein he scored 2514 runs including 14 fifties. On the other hand, Mallik played 124 T20Is for Pakistan, scoring 2435 runs including 9 fifties.
