The cricket fraternity witnessed a genius in action. Williamson took his batting to the next level and scored a magnificent double century in the first innings against Pakistan in Chirstchurch.

Earlier, in the first Test match at Bay Oval, the right-handed batsman scored a magnificent century to put his team in the comfort zone. New Zealand won the game by 101 runs and the skipper was named the player of the match for his impressive batting display.
In the second Test match, Kane unleashed his batting potential by scoring a terrific 238 with the help of 28 fours. Kane and his partner Henry Nicholls added a record 369-run stand for the fourth wicket before Nicholls was dismissed on 157.
Before the ongoing home series against Pakistan, New Zealand locked horns with West Indies in the two-match Test series. Kiwis completed a 2-0 clean sweep and skipper Kane Williamson hogged the limelight for scoring a stellar 251.
Kane brought up his third double century in Tests at Hagley Oval. He drew praises from every nook and corner of the cricket fraternity for his special knock which came at the right time.
While he was en route to scoring yet another 250, he was dismissed by Faheem Ashraf. After he got out, he received a standing ovation from his home ground. Even the Pakistani cricket team couldn’t stop applauding the world-class batsman.

New Zealand in driver’s seat
The hosts already secured 1-0 win in the two-match Test series against Pakistan. They are giving everything to secure another victory in the second Test to complete a cleansweep. The visitors were bundled out for 297. Azhar Ali scored 93 while Mohammad Rizwan scored 61.
Kiwis responded with a whopping 659/6 (declared). Kane scored 238 and Nicholls scored 157. Daryl Mitchell scored his maiden Test century as he ended up scoring 102 and after which the skipper declared the innings. Pakistan already lost one wicket after scoring 8 runs at the end of Day 3. Jamieson dismissed Shan Masood for a duck.
