Paris Saint-Germain News: Despite only appearing in six Ligue 1 games since his debut, legendary Spanish defender Sergio Ramos is already planning his leave from Paris Saint-Germain.
After being released by Real Madrid last summer, Ramos joined the Parc des Princes on a free transfer. He was expected to help PSG fight for the Champions League. The Parisians expected him to develop a partnership with captain Marquinhos.
The decision, however, has backfired, with Ramos suffering from calf and muscular injuries that have kept him out for most of the season. He didn’t make his Ligue 1 debut until the end of November, and he’s only started two more games in the French topflight since then.
He missed the entirety of PSG’s Champions League season due to injury. The French giants experienced a catastrophic collapse against Real Madrid in the second leg of their Last 16 game and were eliminated from the competition.

Ramos’ injury problems are perhaps unsurprising. Ramos made one La Liga game after 9 January for Los Blancos in the 2020/2021 season. Nonetheless, PSG is dissatisfied with the outcome of the transfer.
They have been rumoured to be considering terminating Ramos’ contract before he has even spent a year in the French city. However, that is not the defender’s wish, as he has said that he wants to stay at PSG for three years before moving on.
What did Ramos say?

“I’d like to play at the highest level for another four to five years before embarking on a new adventure. I have two years left at PSG; we’ll attempt to complete three, and then we’ll see what happens.”
“If you ask me, I believe I can keep my mind concentrated as long as my physical condition allows,” he told Amazon Prime.
“I would rather play for the best team in the world than be the best player because, at the end of the day, football is a team sport in which we win together.”
I prefer to compete in the Champions League against the best players in the world. And, to do anything, you will always require teamwork.”
While Ramos wants to continue at PSG, it appears that the club is less interested in extending his injury-plagued stint. Leonardo, the sporting director, has expressed his displeasure with Ramos’ lack of fitness.
“When we signed him, he was in good shape. He’s played five games so far. Regrettably, things have not gone as planned. It’s a challenging situation for him and everyone else. Last month, he told L’Equipe, “But we are clear with him.”
“Everyone will know the day it’s announced that he can no longer play.” That isn’t the case at all. However, his inability to play makes it difficult for him to lead. We’ll wait till the season is complete before drawing any conclusions.”
