Paul Pogba wants a transfer to European giants…and they are not Barcelona!

Paul Pogba has been in the transfer news for seeking an exit from Manchester United. The France international has been linked with a host of clubs and has now decided where he wants to go!

Paul Pogba has been looking for a way to get out of Manchester United since the start of this summer. Barcelona and Juventus were prospective destinations, but a move to either of them just did not formulate despite Mino Raiola’s best efforts. And that would have surely left Pogba in big discontentment.

The France international has fallen out with Mourinho since the business end of last season though things did settle in the mid areas of the summer. Jose Mourinho gifted Pogba with vice-captaincy after his leadership impressed the United boss but has stripped the 25-year-old off it since the last few weeks as well.

It is now being reported that Paul Pogba wants to move to Real Madrid and not one of Barcelona or Juventus. The latter two were strongly linked with a move for him. While Barcelona was seeking to replace Andres Iniesta, Juventus were looking to overhaul their midfield and follow up signings of Leonardo Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Florentino Perez is a huge admirer of Paul Pogba, who was on Madrid’s radar in 2016 before his transfer to Manchester United. Luka Modric has been growing old and is now 33 years old, so a replacement arriving is inevitable. While Mateo Kovacic would obviously be Perez’s first option, Pogba would form a superb renewal too.

Author’s Take

It would come as no surprise if Real Madrid explodes in the January transfer window and make a few Galactico signings which have been pending since a long while. In the last three or four matches, the goal scoring woes have been noticeable though that is due to Julen Lopetegui’s faulty system. A striker and a goalscoring midfielder would be the perfect signings if Real Madrid want any trophies by the end of this season.
