The former Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas posted a photo wishing his followers a good night on Wednesday. He received a very unexpected response from the set of his followers which count Pique and Puyol.
Piqué and Puyol both replied to Casillas’ social media post. The three of them were a part of the world cup winning squad with Spain in South Africa 2010. Iker, Piqué, and Puyol all enjoyed great friendship and rivalry with the national team and at club level respectively.
Pique has never shied to troll Real Madrid or anyone linked to the club. The Barcelona defender considers himself as a master troll and is famous for his banters but he receives hate from the Madridistas for the same. This is what differs his from Carles Puyol who has respect from both sets of fans. But Pique does love to be hated on by the Real Madrid fans.
The trio was back again in the picture with Casillas’ post. The ex-Madrid shot-stopper updated a photo from a game which he played at the Camp Nou with Real Madrid. The image showed him lining up to a restart from a dead-ball.
The frame also depicted the grandstands of the Camp Nou filled with clues during El Clasico. Along with the image, he wrote #GoodNightWorld. As he posted the photo both his former Spanish teammates took a dig at him with hilarious comments. Iker definitely did not expect such a response to this post.
Pique lodged a subtle attack taking advantage of the El Clasico match’s background. “The number of times you’ve come to pick up the ball from inside the goal in this stadium… what a way to pat!!.” The Blaugrana defender wrote on the post. He also added three laughing emojis glorifying his troll.
Former Barca captain also enlisted his comment trolling him in another way. “Did you play alone?” Puyol questioned. Both of them took a sly dig at their teammate and Casillas will hopefully take this sportingly. The social media has bonded the trio again since their last outing for the Spain International team.
Currently, Gerrard Pique is still playing at FC Barcelona and is eager to complete the coronavirus-marred season. Iker Casillas hung up his boots to announce that he will run for the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
He will contest against Luis Rubiales in the next elections and hopes to win for his part. On the other hand, Carles Puyol did refuse the position of sporting director of FC Barcelona.
