10. A Saudi Arabian Took Over Newcastle United

A Saudi Arabian took over the ownership of Newcastle United for £300m on 7th October. This makes Newcastle the richest club in the world. Mike Ashley had owned the club for 14 years. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, governor of PIF, will be serving as the non-executive chairman of Newcastle.

Amanda Staveley, the Chief Executive of PCP capital partners will have a seat on the board. Jamie Reuben will be assisting as a director of the club. She will represent RB sports & media. The reinforcement of the new ownership will be in January.
