Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal FC are hoping to secure a few more players in the next transfer window. Their aim is in Barcelona.
Arsenal and Manchester United are allegedly sketching January transfer captures on Barcelona. The two Premier League giants are keen to take the edge of the La Liga champions. As they need to sell in order to propel a new proposal for former starlet Neymar. Also, according to The Sun, the Gunners persist intent on central defender Samuel Umtiti. On the other hand, Manchester United are engaged in Ivan Rakitic. Arsenal did strengthen their defense this summer. Although, he signings of left-back Kieran Tierney and center-backs David Luiz and William Saliba does not seem enough.
David Luiz has not been able to cope since departing from Chelsea. Also, Saliba was lent back to French club Saint-Etienne. Umtiti has struggled to settle at Barcelona. This is because Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet picked at the core of the Catalans’ defense. United, in the meantime, is light of choices in midfield. They even lost Ander Herrera to Paris Saint-Germain when his agreement terminated.
The Old Trafford club could also succumb Paul Pogba in January if Real Madrid comes back with a new offer. As for Rakitic, he is another player who has dropped out of favor at the Nou Camp. He is reportedly appealing United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. For now, Solskjaer will be without Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw for his side’s trip to face West Ham.
Comments by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United could also play without Welsh flyer David James. He dropped out of the match against Astana with a knock nurtured in the triumph against Leicester.
“I don’t know,” Solskjaer said. “He’s not trained for the last few days. Hopefully, but not sure. We will have a recovery day with everyone tomorrow and we’ll see on Saturday.” said the Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Soskjaer.
Solskjaer said the likes of Axel Tuanzebe and Fred are tapping on the door to be in the starting eleven on Sunday. And so is 17-year-old Marcus Greenwood following his performance against Astana in the Europa League.
“It’s always hard to keep players who perform well out of the team,” the 46-year-old said. I remember when I came in here… and if he keeps scoring goals, he’ll play. If he keeps scoring goals when he’s on the pitch he’ll get more minutes in the Premier League as well and he’ll get his first start soon.” also added Solskjaer.

Just like Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic has squandered his starting place. Since the appearance for Frenkie de Jong, the Croatian international’s position has been lessened to a substitute. Early reports declare that Juventus could also be involved in a winter move for the player.
Despite the rumors, it is inconceivable that any of these proceedings will happen. Unless the player’s shoulder for an exit. Barca currently has only four center-backs and six midfielders. This means that they would have to draw in new players if anyone leaves. However, Barca’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu has latterly reported that the club doesn’t intend to buy anyone in the winter except if the necessity arises.
